I’ve been working at the SAIL Computer Lab for about two weeks now and I feel that I am beginning to integrate with the environment and the people that surround me there. The job is becoming to feel much more natural and I feel much more comfortable at work now. I am glad that this transition took place because at the very beginning, I felt slightly awkward working here. I am currently waiting to be let into the office as I write this.

This week I will be working 16 hours, which is a decent amount, and I hope I get this much time to work every week. It would be really beneficial to both me and my financial situation. In other news, Intel’s Nehalem processor is just around the corner, and I am interested to see how well it will perform. I’ll post more at time goes by.

I haven’t been posting on my blog quite as often as I had wanted (my last post was two months ago) but now that I am about to start a new job at one of the computer labs at the university I attend, I should hopefully blog more often while I am not assisting people. The position I have is a Computer Lab Technician at the University of West Florida’s Student Access (of) Information Lab. This position entails assisting students (and professors) with problems they may encounter while using the SAIL lab as well as restocking consumables in the printers. This job should be a good starting place for me.

In other news, a few weeks ago, I started developing an application for the Apple iPhone. While I cannot discuss the application in detail until it is released (hopefully within the next few weeks), it will be a free application and will be offered on the App Store. After it is submitted to the App Store, I will go more into detail about what the application is.

That’s all that I have for now, I am about to start my first day of training for this new job. I hope it will be a very beneficial experience.

A little over a week ago, I decided that it was time to update my website. My portfolio was out-of-date and not easy to maintain, my résumé was only available as an Adobe PDF file, and there was some grammatical errors on some of the pages.

As such, I have made the needed changes and if you are a previous visitor, you should recognize them immediately. The changes that I made were: I converted my résumé into a web page so that people who do not have Adobe Reader can view it, I updated my portfolio with a new system that is easy to maintain and to read, and I fixed any spelling or grammatical errors I could find throughout the website.

I hope these updates I made are beneficial to all my visitors. In other news, I am finished with the Spring 2008 semester and summer is now here. The courses that I will be taking in the Fall 2008 semester are: Computer Organization, Algorithm & Program Design, University Physics I, and Set Theory & Mathematical Logic. In the mean time, I have been looking to find a job that I can work over the summer so that I can pay bills and buy things that I want.

The university I attend changed the computer science curriculum around, and because of that my graduation is currently scheduled for May of 2010. If I take courses during Summer 2009, I may be able to graduate in December of 2009 but I am not sure of that yet. After I graduate, my wish is to be able to go to Japan, either just to visit, or maybe even to stay awhile. Other than that, I am not sure where I want to live after I graduate.

Finally, I hope to post more often, I tend to fall down on the job when it comes to posting on the blog, but I plan to force myself into posting more often. Also, Nintendo’s Wii Fit comes out tomorrow and I plan on getting it, so maybe I will post a review on it. Well, that is all for now. Thanks for reading.
